Comparing 'The Omen' and our Film

Before shooting our film, we looked at other thrillers that had a young child as there main character, using this we tried to recreate some of the same ideas. Such as this example of the swing.
Another example is when near the end of our opening sequence the 'evil girl' crawls up to the camera, this idea was taken from the trailer of paranormal activity.

Using Quick Time Player
We used 'Quick Time Player' to record the voices we put over our evaluation, as it was very quick and easy to work and got good results when tested for volume and accuracy.

Using Final Cut Pro
We used Final Cut Pro to edit our film, and then put the music over the top. Using this program was very hard at first as there were many things we could do to our film to make it different e.g. effects and transitions.

We used a black and white effect when the 'scary girl' appeared on the screen to make her stand out more, and make her presences more effective.

We used the 'Camcorder' boarder within our film so it looked like a home movie, we took this idea from paranormal activity. We believed that in doing this it made it more realistic that the mother was filming the child at a play ground.

This is a screen shot of what our final cut page looked like while developing our opening sequence.

The 'Blade' tool was key the editing of our sequence as we films a lot of footage due to the location having to be the same though out the opening, therefore we filmed the whole thing in one day. Leading to there being lots of footage to use. Having to cut out footage down was by far one of the hardest tasks we had to do, as we felt that it was all relevant.
